You need it even you are recovering from cancer. Calories and nutrients are components that you needed to help stay strong when you get cancer treatments.

Before Treatment
It’s good idea to have good nutrition before treatment. May some food cause effect or side effect to your body. In other side, focusing on healthy food help you feel better and stay strong.
It’s better to have very little (or no) cooking. Like nuts, yoghurt, veggies, microwaveable brown rice and whole grains. You can pick whatever you like. Fill the fridge or pantry with those healthy food.
During Treatment
Eat a lots of protein and healthy calories will keep your body strong. It also help to repair damage from treatment. High protein foods that you should take are lean meat, chicken, fish, eggs, beans, nuts, seeds, cheese, milk, yogurt, etc.
Don’t forget eat fruits or vegetable, at least 2.5 cups a day. Wash them wholly before you eat. Dark green and yellow veggies can be your options.
Have enough liquid all day. You can drink water, that’s great choice. You may drink fresh squeezed juice or infused water. While you drink it, you will get some extra vitamins. Your body will stay hydrated and fresh.
Manage Side Effects
Cancer treatments may have side effects. This condition make patient hard to have enough eat. The food what you eat can be worse or improve side effect. It’s incredibly important to pick you foods. You can’t take whatever you want to eat. You must adjust to the symptoms or side effect you have.
Nausea/vomiting
Every few hours try eat dry food, such as crackers and toast. Keep away from high-fat, greasy, and spicy foods. For the drink, clear liquids are the best option. You may drink broths, water, or sport drinks.
Mouth or throat problem
Eat soft food if you have mouth sores, pain, and trouble swallowing. Keep away from spicy, acidic, rough, or scratchy foods. Pureed fruits and fruit smoothies can be your choice. You can use a straw for drinks or soups. Avoid too hot or cold foods and drinks, keep it lukewarm.
Diarrhea
Stay hydrated is incredibly important. Drink liquid a lots. Avoid high fiber foods (whole grains and vegetable).
Constipation
Have enough liquid is the key to solve it. Have more high foods can help it too.
Ask doctor to help you choose the best foods. Keep balance diet, and limit your sugar, salt, caffeine, and alcohol. Stay healthy and safe.
